Frequently Asked Questions

Info Cubic helps collect information during background checks but does not determine how that information will be used. The degree of leniency is contingent upon how an employer or landlord interprets the background check data once it is complete. Employers and landlords use the information contained in background screenings to assess their criteria. For example, employers can establish criteria that they consider pre-requisites for successful employment and consider reasons for why you should be denied employment based on what is found during the background screening process. Info Cubic offers clients information so they reach a decision. The degree of leniency from an employer or landlord is totally up to that particular company.

Info Cubic requires some sensitive details when conducting background checks. Nevertheless, consumers have rights and must give consent to the employer, landlord, or person requiring the background check before any company can screen your background. When providing sensitive information to Info Cubic, it is critical to make sure it is done securely and within the parameters of privacy laws and regulations. If you are being screened by Info Cubic, you should be careful and proactive when providing your sensitive data. Providing data within Info Cubic’s provided portals and not randomly sharing info with outside companies claiming to be affiliated with Info Cubic is important.

To verify self-employment, Info Cubic does not collect documents like tax returns. Instead, Info Cubic uses other methods to collect information and verify identity. Info Cubic’s verification checks can help reveal self-employment and assist with discovering if someone is self-employed or has lied on an application. Info Cubic checks educational and professional license history and also verifies information with personal and professional references. In addition, Info Cubic offers Social Security number traces and credit report checks that can help connect people with businesses and entities they claim to be associated with. Through multiple screenings there should be enough data to determine if someone is likely self-employed or not.

Strong encryption and strong password protection has protected Info Cubic from having a security breach. Nonetheless, an Info Cubic breach is still possible since security breaches are oftentimes out of the company’s control. Breaches can happen because someone affiliated with the company, either employees or customers, does not protect their information. Scammers can hack into the system by hacking an individual’s work account or by stealing a candidate’s login credentials. That’s why it’s important to never share sensitive details with anyone unless it is necessary. If you are a victim of a security breach or have questions about background check errors, the lawyers at Consumer Attorneys can help you. Contact us for a case evaluation!
