Collection Resources

What is Collection Resources?

Collection Resources was established in 1981 as a debt collecting agency. They take the responsibility of collecting debts for their clients. They are a member of the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals.

Is Collection Resources Working According to the FDCPA?

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) protects you from unjust practices by debt collectors. Many debt collectors engage in abuse, deception, and other below-the-belt tactics, to successfully claim the debts.

Now, debt collectors have to be fair and follow the rules stated in the FDCPA. The FDCPA states:

  • Debt collectors cannot engage in foul language with you
  • They are not allowed to threaten you or cause any violence
  • They are not allowed to contact you after 9 pm and before 8 am
  • They are not allowed to call you repeatedly so much that it gets annoying
  • They are not allowed to disclose your identity
  • They are not allowed to lie about their profession
  • They cannot spread misinformation such as labeling you as a criminal
  • They cannot lie about their affiliations
  • They have to state the correct amount to be collected
  • They are not allowed to threaten you with arrest
  • They are not allowed to or threaten to seize your assets or wages
  • They are not allowed to threaten you with legal action

Your Rights Protected Under the FDCPA are Violated

If any of your rights listed above have been violated, you are eligible to take the debt collection agency to court! Make sure to document, as much as possible, any communication you have had with the debt collectors. Moreover, you have to file a case within a year of your rights being violated.

Even if you are unable to prove any damages caused by them, the judge might grant you $1,000. So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch with a legal representative right away. If you are interested in a free consultation, you should reach out to Consumer Attorneys by calling them at (877) 615-1725. They have immense experience in dealing with such scenarios and will not charge a single penny until you win the case. When you win the case, the debt collector will have to pay your attorney and court fees.
